Week of January 13

Something to look forward to in January is GRAPEFRUIT season.  In 2014, we planted 2 grapefruit as part of our citrus orchard in Gainesville.  They live at the edge of the oak canopy where they catch the morning sun.  One is a ruby red, the other is pink, and they now are our biggest citrus trees, over 10 feet tall.  Some years they have dozens of smaller fruit, this year they had 6 huge fruit.  When our children and grands visited for Christmas, we found out that everyone loves PopPop’s grapefruit.  Miles, age 6, would eat both halves for breakfast!
